About Us

Our Story

Ambient Aid for Australia was born in the aftermath of the devastating 2019–2020 bushfire season — a period that shocked the world and mobilised communities across the globe. A network of ambient and electronic musicians, bound by a shared love of Australia’s natural world and a desire to do something meaningful, came together to create a collaborative album.

The result was an extraordinary collection of original music donated entirely by artists who asked for nothing in return except that the proceeds go where they were needed most: directly to wildlife and environmental conservation in Australia.

What We Do

We are a not-for-profit music and environmental awareness project. Our activities include:

  • Releasing benefit music — collaborating with ambient, electronic, and acoustic artists to create and distribute music that funds conservation.
  • Raising awareness — providing accessible, well-researched information about Australian environmental issues for a global audience.
  • Connecting communities — linking music lovers, nature advocates, and conservation volunteers through shared purpose.

Where the Money Goes

One hundred percent of profits from album sales and donations channelled through this platform go to the World Wildlife Fund Australia. WWF Australia focuses on saving threatened species, protecting critical habitats, and driving policy change to address the root causes of ecological decline.

“Australia’s biodiversity crisis is real, urgent, and solvable — but only if we act together.”

The Artists

Our debut album features over 40 artists from Australia, Europe, North America, and beyond. Each track was composed and donated specifically for this project. The artists receive no payment — their contribution is their gift to the Australian environment.

Get Involved

You don’t have to be a musician to contribute. Buy the album, share it, talk about it. Or head to our Conservation Contacts page to find a volunteering or donation opportunity that suits you.
